There were several local award winners, including:

     Brent Newman: Bronze in Belgian & Sour Beers (7 entries) for
       "Pleistocene Grand Cru"

     Mike Hall & Jim Morel: Silver in American Pale Ale (15 entries) for
       "Jemez Pale Ale 3"

     Lara Sandling-Bennett: Gold and Best-of-Show in Meads (9 entries)
       for "Apple Passion"
    
     Mike Hall: Bronze in Meads (9 entries) for "Summers Lease II
       Apricot Melomel"

and, although not currently members, these former Atom Mashers also won
awards:

     Laure Pomianowski: Gold in Specialty & Chile Beers (20 entries) for
       "Hopeless Romantic"
 
     Laure Pomianowski: Bronze in American Micro Lite (2 entries) for
       "Not so Dumb"
                      
     Laure Pomianowski: Silver in Dunkel & Fest Beers (10 entries) for
       "My Summer of Hell & Magic"
                               
     Jack Foley: Silver in Pilsners (9 entries) for "Beau Hunque Pils"
  
Congratulations to the winners! We also had a good contingent helping
with the judging:

Overall, the judging went well, with two sessions on Saturday and one
session and the Best-of-Show round on Sunday. The overall Best-of-Show
(and many other awards) went to Lonnie Brooks, owner of Bootlegger's
Supply in Albuquerque, for a very well-done Pils.
