This year's IdenticAle was held at Chama River Brewing
Co. on April 2nd. The variable was yeast and we had *plenty* of samples
to see how much of an impact yeast makes. The majority of sample stayed
within the realm of Belgian yeast, but we had the occasional Irish
and American Strain. The occasion was set up very well, with good
traffic control and excellent lay-out of the sample sheet. Things
got a little crowded around the bar as everyone tried to negotiate
their tray of samples. Ted did a good job as MC and several breweries
offered goodies for raffling off. A couple hours into the tasting,
some reps from White Labs yeast talked to as many could squeeze in
the conference room about the intriquacies of good yeast handling.
