Meeting

We had a special guest speaker at this months meeting. Chef Hadley gave an informative lecture on the making of sausage. For a lot of people he de-mystified the process of making quality sausage in your own home. For those that were inspired to give this a try Jim Kinn will be hosting a sausage making event at his home in February so look for more info on that in the months to come.
Shamrock Open 2007- This years Shamrock open will be held Saturday, March 24th at the BB&Y restaurant. We are looking to have a lot of club members volunteer to help out with this event. We're looking for people to help out by judging or stewarding. This is the main event that funds all other CARBOY activities so please pitch in if you can.
AHA National Homebrewers Conference- This years conference will be help June 21st-23rd in Denver. CARBOY has already volunteers to serve our beer at Club Night. Each year our club has had a larger group attend this event and we're hoping to continue this trend. You can find more info about this event HERE. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at Mark@food4dogs.com and I can provide more info on the event itself and/or what CARBOY had planned for our participation in the event.
Do you pitch enough yeast? This topic came up at the meeting and I thought it would be helpful to share a great link that will help you determine how much yeast you should be pitching into your wort. Pitch rate is one of the most important aspects of making great beer yet it's one of the most ignored topics. Jamil Zainasheff has put together a great yeast calculator.
We then went into "TELL US ABOUT THIS BEER"!
