Meeting Location
CARBOY’s monthly meetings are currently held at the BB&Y Restaurant. BB&Y is located on the first floor of the Caswell Building at 3700 National Drive, in the Koger Center off Glenwood Avenue in West Raleigh. Owner Nick Jones allows CARBOY to meet monthly at his restaurant when we don’t have picnics or field trips scheduled. BB&Y is open for breakfast and lunch each week-day. We encourage members to visit BB&Y for a relaxed informal meal. Please let Nick now you’re from CARBOY when you visit his restaurant.

September 2003 Meeting Minutes

(Special thanks to Jim Navecky for the meeting notes!)

  1. Social VP Steve Stoller presided over the meeting. Steve showed an embroidered baseball cap his Development. had made. The caps were $5.25 a piece with a minimum order of 6 dozen. Something for CARBOY to ponder for a way to promote the club.
  2. Larry Matthews gave a PoptheCap update (effort to remove the NC 6% alcohol limit on beer).
An updated and overhauled PoptheCap web page should hopefully be running on 09/30.

Larry provided info on some events where interested members can help the cause.
Email Larry at lmatt@ipass.net if you'd like to help.
10/04/03 - Durham World Beer Festival PoptheCap information table can use some volunteers.

10/11/03 - Charlotte Oktoberfest PoptheCap information table can use some volunteers.

10/18/03 - PoptheCap Day, Participating BrewPubs and  restaurants will donate 25 cents for every beer purchased (up to a certain amount). The updated PoptheCap web page should show a list of participating establishments. If you can solicit a favorite watering hole to join the effort, contact Larry.
  3. The upcoming Social Calendar was discussed.
Oktoberfest-plans didn't come together, canned for this year
Christmas Party-definite interest, efforts will be made to pick a date and get the same location as last year (details will be published)

We then went into "TELL US ABOUT THIS BEER".
