September 2006 Meeting Minutes
Oktoberfest 2006 - We had yet another successful Oktoberfest this year and once again Mother Nature provide us with a great day. The food was great and everyone had a great time, the kids put on a good show with their waterside soccer match. Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success.

Blue Ridge Brew-off - CARBOY did extremely well at MALT's competition and as a club we are in second place for homebrew club of the year. Check out BRBO Results and see how everyone did. Thanks to those that went out to help judge, we can't pull off these competitions without the help of other club members. Let's make a strong showing at Palmetto in December and hold on to second place.
Charlotte Oktoberfest - Several members of CARBOY volunteered to donate a batch of homebrew and/or go to Charlotte to serve up some of our clubs best brews to roughly 6000 thirsty beer enthusiasts. Dozens of people told us that we had the best beer at the entire event and some were very upset to find that they could not buy our beer in any stores. We went through ~70gal of beer in under five hours. Just as a comparison a tent very close by only went through 10gal in the same period so it wasn't just that people would drink anything, they wanted CARBOY beer. This is a true testament to what we've known all along, OUR CLUB MAKES GREAT BEER. We look forward to going again next year, it was a great event to benefit a great charity. Pictures
Holiday Party 2006 - This years holiday party will be held on Saturday December 9th in the usual location. More details to follow but mark it on your calendar now.
BJCP Exam - A BJCP exam will be held locally in late February or early March. A study group has been formed and there is room for more people. If you're interested contact Mike Dixon
