National Homebrew Day

National Homebrew Day will be celebrated on May 10th (not May 3rd) at

Tomcat's with the brewing of 230 gal of an Imperial Stout. This will be

Thom's basic recipe with some club revision. Cost is $20.00/person. Open

only to Trub and Carboy members. Only 40 slots will be sold. We currently

have over 20 slots already sold. For $20.00, you recieve 5 gal of the beer

after 7-10 days in the fermenter. You must attend and work with the club on

May 10th in the brewing of the beer and be available to go back to Tomcat

in 7-10 days to pickup your beer for further fermentation. Included is a

small breakfast of doughnuts/coffee/bagels. A lunch will be provided but we

may ask for the addition of a side dish from all participants. The cost of

all brewing ingredients like grain, hops, honey, and yeast. Bring enough

beer to share and to drink during the work day. For the first time this

year, we will offer 3 educational seminars. Two speakers are already

beginning work on notes and comments. Plan on the day to begin about 8:30

AM and run until cleanup is completed about 4:00 PM.

 

To reserve a slot, please email me as soon as possible. For questions, you

may call me from 6:00-8:00 PM in the evening. Once you commit, we will need

payment of the $20.00 even if you fail to attend on the 10th.
