So who's going? I'll be there, pouring beer at the Leinie Lodge. Stop by and say hello. Hopefully I'll be there and not off under a tree in a puddle of barleywine. |

Never miss it! Heading up there Friday and swinging through New Glarus on the way. Always a good time. |

We'll be coming up on Fri. evening. Running down to New Glarus on Sat. AM because they close at 4:30 on Fri. and are closed on Sun. Is the Capitol bier garten in Middleton a good choice for Fri. dinner? This is our first trip and we're looking forward to it. Rob |

I'll be there due to some good friends coming up with some tickets. Dang, it sold out quick! Rob- The Capital bier garten doesn't cook food but, they may have a catered in deal that night. Not sure. Check their website. http://www.capital-brewery.com/index1.htm Cheers, Tim |

I addition, you may not be able to get draft beer at the New Glarus brewery itself - better off skipping across the street into New Glarus downtown and pulling a pint from the Glarner Stube's well appointed bar. They're on the main drag. Check them out at http://www.swisstown.com/dining.htm. |

I know Capitol is having a big party for all the brewery reps Friday night, so it may not be open to the public. J.T. Whitney's should be open Friday and they have great food. I love their "ugly potatoes" Make sure you guys stop by our booth, it will be nice to put some names to faces! |

This is off-topic, but there seems to be several cheesehead-types here, so I'll post my question. Can anyone recommend a mail-order place to buy landjaeger sausage? I'm awfully fond of the stuff, and hunting season is right around the corner. Its a product damn near nonexistent in Montana. |

In New Glarus is a family butcher shop I always stop at that will vac pack and ship. Will get their contact info and post it. Also, you do know there are many variations of this product? |

I just had my first landjaeger about a month ago when my brew buddie and I took a road trip to The Frugal Brewer in Cederburg WI to pick up 200 pounds of grain. It was good but there was a better sausage that I tried (also for the first time) called mettwurst(?). It has a slight sourness with a powerful pork flavor - I will be getting a couple pounds of it the next time though. I'll check to see if either of the shops (small town on the way to Cedarburg with 2 even smaller butcher shop) has a web page or at least get you the telephone numbers. Both where very inexpensive. Just don't send us any lawyers... PTA |

Sounds good to me, Tim. PTA, do you remember the town you went through? I live about 6 miles from Cedarburg |

We just got home from the Great Taste. Doug J and Rob Beck, it was great to meet you. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in the Madison area. There are some fine beers in this neck of the woods, aren't there? Cheers, Tim |

Doug, I'm in Helena. Actually was born in Bozeman, and will be passing through tomorrow on my way to Yellowstone to spend the weekend in Mammoth. Thanks all to the responses about sausages - the midwest certainly rules in that regard. PTA, got your e-mail - I'll certainly order some mettwurst. I've never heard of it, but if its anything like landjaeger, its sure to please the boys at hunting camp. |

If someone is still looking for Landjagers, these are the best I've ever had. This is a family owned place and great people. I am somewhat affiliated because I store my camper in Steve's shed behind the store. |
