Has anyone every heard of cleaning really dirty bottle and wine bottles with Salt Rocks and Rubbing alcohol? A friend gave me a bunch of bottles and said the quick way to clean them is by pouring a little rubbing alcohol and some salt rocks in it and shake it to clean the inside...then rinse and santize like normal..... |

Chad, By Salt Rocks, do you mean rock salt crystals? I have used BBs to dislodge really hard "yuck" on the bottom. Try soaking them for a week in trisodium phosphate (STP) then rinsing. If you are doing cases and cases, rubbing alcohol would be very expensive. |

Chad, I support Marlon's thoughts. I have had a lot of luck with a strong bleach solution. I just put the bottles in a 5 gal bucket (or 2) with water and a bunch (? cup) of bleach. An overnight or 24 hour soak seems to release the most stubborn deposits, or at least make them amenable to the ole brush + elbow grease. Just be sure to use a well ventilated room and rinse the bottles before you brush them so bleach won't spray all over the place. Dave |

Sure your friend wasn't talking about cleaning bongs? |

To clean bongs I just made myself very tiny like a very microscopic alien like the ones that are planted here by the government and I would just hop into the bong and just inhale and then scratch the sides clean with this really awesome f**kin' wire brush that I found at a Dead show... |
