Where is the best internet outlet for 5 gallon cornies? Seems like a guy should be able to find cornies for under 20 bucks. |

Believe it or not, I have bought them direct from Pepsico bottling, my local distibutor. They come full of soda, and cost $17. No deposit, no need to return them. I quiz them every time, and it's always the same, "It's yours, you can have it. You don't need to bring it back." I leave kind of slack jawed every time. And you know they are good and hold pressure. |

I wish my local Pepsi would do that. I've asked both 7-up and pepsi here in Indy and neither one has pre-mix available. |

That's the deal, they are phasing out pre-mix cornies and going with boxes of syrup. Neither Coke or 7UP carry the cornies anymore. It must cost them more to handle and recondition returns than to just let them go. |

Everyone but homebrewers is phasing them out. How hard is it going to be to find parts in ten years? Will poppets be $18 each? |

"Will poppets be $18 each?" I'm not taking any chances - that's why I own ~20 of them. PTA |

Right now 5 gallon corny kegs are relatively cheap, although the price has edged up in the past year as the Chinese have greatly increased purchases of scrap stainless. Joseph, you may be correct that the cost will be considerably higher in ten years when the soda bottlers have entirely phased them out. But that's no reason not to buy them now at a good price and keep some around for spare parts. |

Thanks for the help guys. I went to Pepsi today and purchased 20 gallons of pop for 90 bucks. They didn't ask for name or deposit and didn't care if I brought them back. |

What flavor? I've been getting root beer. The neighbor kids think I'm cool. I had to replace the lid o-ring on one, but the others cleaned (smell too) up with PBW soaking. (Message edited by gpflepsen on September 01, 2004) |

That sounds like a good way to get kegs, but how the hell do you drink that much soda? If I'm putting any fattening, cold, carbonated liquid in me, it better be beer... |

"but how the hell do you drink that much soda?" I, on the average, drink almost 5 liters of soda a day - granted it is all diet - but wrong none the less. The place I work at has free soda as a "benefit". I only drink water as an ingredient. I need to get liquids some how. PTA |

That's funny. The place I work has the same benefit. I just completely forgot that I drink a rediculous ammount of Diet DrPepper every day. Not near 5 liters, but I guess I CAN see how you could drink that much soda. I wouldn't drink soda at home though. I have to drink beer at night to balance out the coffee and Diet DP I drink all day. |

Did you see the recent study that said that 1 soda a day (not diet of course) doubles your risk of diabetes? Not sure your "benefits" are really good for you. Hope the medical insurance is good! |

Damn, my kids would love it if we had root beer on tap, and free kegs as a benefit? I'm going to have to call my local pepsi shop! |

Five liters of diet soda a day ?!? This explains a lot, PTA. You shouldn't worry about getting Alzheimer's from brewing in aluminum pots, because the time you get to be 60, there won't be any thing left in your brain left to infect. |

I also have the bladder of a water buffalo. I bet my brother once I could fill up a 32 oz soda cup - I won, with a couple extra oz that overflowed... ahhh good times, good times. PTA |

Great, now I'm going to have to try that, thanks. I drink about 3 stupor big gulps of diet coke a day, which would be about a gallon, so I'm under 5 litres too, barely... |

when I was in kindergarten, we used to try to pee on the ceiling of the restroom. The boys' restroom was wild because it was the one place our teacher couldn't follow us in. Oh yeah, we often made it. It's amazing how far a young kid can pee. |

I'm afraid I'm no longer a distance "runner", I go for volume now. I do, however, have fond memories of trying to pee over the stall dividers in grade school and into the next urinal... mophead - Let me know how you do! PTA |

Since this is officially out of hand, I have a friend who can stand at the foul line on a basketball court and pee through the hoop. I didn't believe it either until I witnessed it. |

Sorry Hophead, no mushrooms. Also, it depends on whether you count about 14 beers as additional hardware... By the way, I ran halftime show idea past my buddy and he's willing to give it a shot (so to speak), you have any bookings for him Richard? |
