Felt like starting a new thread on this. OK, I am in. See the rest of you there. PTA, let's skip the pints of New Glarus barleywine this time, OK? Malam cerevisiam faeceus in cathedram stercoris

Damn this is tempting, particularly the part about sleeping on PTA's floor. The only thing I would dread would be the 5 hour drive home on Sunday with a hang-over . . . |

From http://www.homebrewmarket.com/: The date for our N.E.W. Beerfest has been set!! It will be held April 1, 2006 from 5p.m. to 9p.m. Tickets will be avalible February 1, 2006. The location is: Tornado's (Just changed to "The Wave Bar and Ballroom" - http://www.tornadosllc.com/) 2350 North Casaloma Drive Appleton, WI 54914 Any other question please call: 1-800-261-BEER (2337) I believe you can call that 800 number and reserve tickets with Homebrew Market. DO NOT wait until you get there on the day of the brew fest to buy tickets, you will not be able to get in. They always sell out in advance. I'm going to Homebrew Market (our LHBS) on the way home today to pick up some hops for brewing tomorrow, if anyone wants me to check on ticket status I can. |

Good point! Though, with the wife out of the house I could pull off 3 or 4 batches over the course of the weekend. Decisions, decisions. |

Yeah, I wasn't too popular around here in the mid 90's when the Cowboys beat the Packers like 10 times in a row... |

Geh! The first is my youngest's daughters second birthday! And I'm flying down to North Carolina for the (what is sure to be exciting) home inspection at six the next morn. I'm so close, but there's no way I'm making it. Sorry guys, Wayne |

The next 10 times? I suppose after the Packers lost 8 in a row (including playoffs) to Dallas, winning 2 out of the last 3 would make you feel a little better... |

Maybe if SWMBO can get off Friday next week, I can convince her to go. She was ready to go to the real ale fest in Cleveland until family things stopped that idea. Anybody know if when the SS Badger starts it crossings? Dan --This space is again being left intentionally blank.-

Dan, not until May 12 (http://www.ssbadger.com/). It's quite a boat, one of the last examples (1953) of a true steam propulsion system. |

I got the first class tour of the engine room. (Twin double compound four cylinder Unaflow Skinners powered by four coal fired boilers. - too cool) The chief engineer, Bill Kulka, collects beer stuff - trays to be exact. The wife says that her boss' last day is Friday and she does not want to take that day off. Dan (Message edited by listermann on March 24, 2006) --This space is again being left intentionally blank.-

You’re bringing me back to my senior year in college and the early days of good beer appreciation. I had to go pour a pint and snap a pic...

As much fun as I'm certain it would be, I would have to say that I'm leaning towards not coming. Getting two or three batches brewed is going to take priority. Sad, I know, but the desire to brew is getting unbearable. I'll save myself for The Great Taste. |
