Anyone had it? Summit's in Roswell GA had a keg of it a couple weeks ago and would only let me have two glasses because they said the demand was so great and it was hard for them to get a keg of it. I must say I was knocked out by how smooth and balanced it was. You got a snootful of hops but no accompanying bitterness that you would expect. it is 8.7 ABV and you must be careful because you can easily start chugging it as it goes down so smooth. I am not usually one to fawn over a commercial beer and extol it's virtues, but the guys at Oskar Blues have done it again! When I first was introduced to Dale's Pale Ale a couple years ago, I snickered when I saw a pale ale in a can. Then I took a sip. From that moment on, I changed my whole outlook on canned beer. Now that I have been introduced to Gordon Beer, it will take an exceptionally extraordinary beer to rise to Gordon's level. But that's just my opinion. I bought 3 individual cans tonight at Green's in downtown Atlanta. Paid $2.99 apiece. I am going back tomorrow and may clean them out as they only have a few cases of it. It has been quite some time since a beer has made such an impression on me. Here is a link to their website: http://www.oskarblues.com/brew ICDTAD! (Vance knows what I mean) Give a man a beer and he'll waste an hour. Teach a man to brew and he'll waste a lifetime.

Dang. Their site says I can buy their beer in NY and MA, but not here at home. Sometimes I hate living in CT. Vegetables aren't food. Vegetables are what food eats.

Not had the Gordon, but have had Dale's PA a few times. The Head Brewer out there is Dave Chichura (aka Chooch) Chooch is from Indianapolis, originally, and his folks still live here. He used to be a member of our HB club. He was the assistant brewer at our Rock Bottom for a while, then head brewer at RB Warrenville. He also paid dues at Bells, I recall, before moving out to Colorado to be head brewer at Mountain Sun for a while before landing at Oskar Blues. Anyway, a few cans of Dale's find their way to club members whenever Chooch is in town. |

I've heard of it but not seen it in ATL. Or at least not in Cumming at Jax. Wish I'd know Summits had it. Been there several times lately and I always ask what's new. I Could Drink This All Day |

Last year's batch had pretty distinct diacetyl, at least to me. It became more evident as the beer aged and the hops faded. Any sign of it in this year's batch? Other than that, I could drink a lot of it. |

No diacetyl that I noticed. But I am sure if i were looking for it, I may detect it. Heading to Green's for some more on my break.
