The new brew rig! As you can see it's not hooked up yet, I just built the stand the day of the pictures. 1 more month with a sleepy baby and it'll be a brewin! The Fermenter. Still waiting for it's first brew, shoot, I think I see lights on the baby monitor… The Control Panel. The control panel has 2 PID controllers, one for the HLT and one for the RIMS chamber. The dial in the middle is an SSR driver for the boil kettle and the three lighted switches are for power the units above them. I will be adding some more lighted switches for the pumps when I get around to it. Inside the box. Inside you can see the three Solid State Relays, my 110 volt power and the back of the controllers. The long silver wires coming out of the controllers are the thermocouples for the mash and HLT temps. I haven’t wired the 220 to the heater elements yet. The 50 amp spa GFI for safety! I decided to be safe and sprung for the $90 GFCI. The reason it's taking so long! This won't be a part of the finished brewery! |

Do the long thermocouples stay accurate if they are that long? I'm concerned about dissipation from source to read-out... |

the output current for a thermocouple is very low. therefor the voltage loss will be very small. But this is hardly a consern as long as you calibrate the equitment |

Translation for Victor: Hi I'm Victor from Colombia. I'm very interested in having a beer system like yours, could you tell me how much it would cost? I appreciate any information, its difficult here in Colombia |
