Yep, It's my "water" purifier. I collect all my yeast starter pour off and when I have enough, I run it through my purifier. Sugar and corn washes get the same treatment. It helps round out my education. Richard. |

Water purifier? How about a distillation column? Nice system. I like the CFC on legs! Copper in copper. Bet that was tough to do. |

It wasn't bad. I unrolled the 1/2" and 3/4" copper to make it as straight as possible and pushed the 1/2" thru till 18" stick out the ends and then start rolling. Attach the fittings and soldier. Pretty straight forward. Richard. |

Richard, What is your procedure in cooling off yeast starters to pour off? I would be interested in how long you cool off and then warm back up for pithcing. Thanks ELK |

Elk, I don't crash cool my starters. I let them ferment out then let them clear on their own(a couple days) I generally ferment ale strains at 70 deg (starters). I pour off whats clear, swirl whats left then pitch. I keep my left over beer (starter)in a carboy in the refer until I have enough then run thru my purifier. Richard |
