I kinda look at this forum as "home" (God help me!) so I hope you'll all indulge me for a few minutes. This Wed., my club and I are hosting 21 Danish commercial brewmasters. I was contacted by Christian Anderson from Olfabrikken, where my Rye IPA recipe is brewed, about the group coming to the PNW and wanting to get together with me and other homebrewers. We'll be meeting at the Ninkasi Brewery in Eugene and tasting homebrews before moving on the the Rogue for dinner. He's bringing some of his Rye IPA, so I'll finaly get a chance to taste it! And on Sun., I'm brewing batch #300. 2 milestones in one week! Damn, is this a great hobby or what!!!! |

Yeah, the wife of the guy who owns my LHBS is Danish and she said "You're gonna have 21 Danish brewers at once????", implying that it oughta be quite the party! Anyone in the area is invited...email me for details. |

Lucky you! The Danes are doing some really good things these days. I got to meet Christian and several other brewers and a bunch of beer enthusiasts when I was in Copenhagen last year. From what I remember of the evening I had a really good time. BW |

Sounds great, Bill! Christian said they wanted to get together with us because they get their best inspiration from homebrewers! |

I volunteered at the Hood River Hops festival on Saturday and met quite a few of these Danish brewers. They were taking notes on the beers being served and one brewer told me that brewing PNW style beers is becoming very popular over there. No wonder hops are getting scarce. These fellas were headed to GABF as well. |

Really? They sent me their itinerary and it didn't mention GABF. I thought they were crazy not to go. |

Nah, Steve, it's likely the same group and they just didn't mention it to me. Bill, I agree, brewing is a great way to make friendships. Speaking of which, any chance you'll make it to NHC in Cincinnati in June? It's be great to finally meet. |

Denny, I'll do everything I can (the crystal ball is a little hazy at this point) to be in Cincinnati next June. It's about an 8-hour drive for me, so it's certainly doable. My two other experiences at the NHC (Kansas City and Chicago) were a hoot; I'd love to be able to return. |

Though we couldn't swing Denver, the Savannah Brewers League will be in Cinncinnati in force. We're already working on a barrel-aged brew and probably a dozen others we'll bring. Road trip! 300 batches - wow! Someone the other day was amazed I'd brewed a piddily 65. |

I personally would be deathly afraid of attending NHC 2008, but then again, I am deathly afraid of Bloatarians. |
