As a guy who grew up in Central Illinois, I’ve always been a Bear fan. The glory days of Sayers, Butkis, Ditka, O’Bradovich, etc. etc., were rekindled in ‘85 with an (almost) perfect season and then again last night when I saw them demolish Seattle. I’ve been following the Titans since they’ve moved here, but it’s obvious there ain’t nothing in that well for the foreseeable future . .well . . except maybe the next gang of assaulting criminals (Thanks Albert for being a super jerk) I think last night while watching the Bears dismantle Holmgren’s ‘Hawks, I missed drinking a beer as much as anytime since I started the abstention. Here’s to Chicago and their fantastic football team! 9 days, 1 hour, 31 minutes, 24 seconds |

Albert should be charged with assault, class B felony version. Had he done that in the parking lot after the game, felony charge,no question about it. Why the hell does it matter to the DA? Surely he has jurisdiction within LP Field too. I gotta say, I'm a Bears fan this year. They are looking real good. so dhack, whaddya think about the Baltimore Titans? T |

Tim, It's good to see Stevie 'Air' work his magic again. To Baltimore's credit, they've managed to take Tennessee's best and surround them with a REAL supporting cast. McNair was just getting clobbered last year by an offensive line that couldn't stop an empty bread wagon. 8 days, 20 hours, 23 minutes, 46 seconds |

Tim, I disagree on the assault thing. The simple act of tackling would be considered assault in a parking lot, yet its done almost every play. The game is intense, and violent, and some players lose control. I do think the suspension should have been more than 5 games though. |

What? the game made him do it? B.S. Players who can't control themselves are a danger to their co-workers on the field. I agree. 5 games was not enough. Albert should never play professional football again. He absolutely should be tried and convicted of felony assault and should do time. Maybe then future players will concentrate as much effort on the control of their behavior as they do on the control of their play. And I am a Titans fan. or I was. I hope Fisher cans his ass, if he does, I'll be more proud of the Titans in what looks like an 0-16 season than I was when they went to the superbowl. Tim |

It doesn't sound like Fisher plans on turning him out to pasture based on his quote . . . "I felt there needed to be some serious action taken from a discipline standpoint, and I believe that what the league has done right now is adequate," Fisher said. "Five games and five paychecks is substantial." Now, what I think should happen is they trade him to Dallas and let nature take its course!! 7 days, 20 hours, 37 minutes, 1 second |

Being a Dallas fan I'm sure you all can imagine I have an opinion on this. I'm not foaming at the mouth about it believe it or not. The league set a new standard for intent to injure on the field with the 5 game suspension as the longest suspension previous to this was when Charles Martin body slammed McMahon and got two games. That combined with the fact that by being suspended he is losing over $190,000 in salary I feel they did ok. What I WISH they would have done was suspend him for the season and if Andre can't play this week they should give Haynesworth's weekly paycheck to him. I heard a sportswriter come up with that one and I like the idea. FWIW, it looks like Andre will play, don't think he will be able to bear missing the Iggles game, plus TO set a precedent with not missing a single game even though he had a broken bone, surgery, and a plate installed in his hand. Hate the guy or love him, that's one tough SOB. |

Oh yeah, and dhacker, I too loved the a$$-whuppin Da Bears laid on the Seabags. I'm just not convinced the Seabags are all that and Da Bears backed up my thoughts. |

"What? the game made him do it? " Aw come, you know I'm not saying that! My point was that almost anything that happens on a football field would be considered assault were a citizen to do it to another citizen. Much worse has been done, the hit that Jack Tatum laid in the wide reciever he paralyzed for life was considered a clean hit! Maybe the rules in general need to be changed? I think maybe he should be out for the season, but several years in jail is a little extreme. This guy does have a history also, which makes it a little worse. |
