Thanks Scott, where did you get that map? The wave is supposed to pass through an ocean buey (sp) and will give us an update but no news yet.

They say the waves through the Markesas (sp) were 6' and that those islands are a good analog for what hits Hawaii. Nothing to sneeze at but certainly not a 20'.

As the earthquake occurred in South America, there is a lot of warning time for most of the heavily populated areas of the Pacific Rim. Also, the long distances will diminish the effects of the waves. Ron, let us know how it looked on Waikiki.

Not so lucky are those in Chile who were close to the epicenter of one of the strongest quakes ever recorded.
