is that something I should remove prior to filling up the mash tun for my second batch sparge?

Just add the water stir and drain.. Its funny how that stuff does that sometimes and not others.

Sorry for the one word answer I was in a hurry. I had the exact same question a couple of years ago and went as far as tasting it a couple times. Then right as I was about to post the question so else did.
