As if michelob ultra and mgd 64 weren't bad enough, bud is now "competing" in this ultra low cal market with...

Bud Select 55.

2 words : Nas Tee

Make it stop. Please.

Might be good for putting out grill flare ups.

I understand that we, of all people, who have an extremely broad definition of beer, but there can be a limit, even for us. I feel that you can dilute beer to the point that it is merely slightly beer flavored alcohol water - no longer deserving the name "beer." Call me intolerant, please . . .

Kinda like "Near Beer" from prohibition.

Just now its considered "good" by the people who want to be skinny.

I had the unfortunate pleasure to try the "55" today.
It reminds me of Dan's experiment with soda water, vodka and food coloring, only watered down.

They should not be permitted to place the word Beer on this label

It was Everclear and a little extra dark dry malt extract. It scored a 29!

On the way in this morning, I saw a billboard that proclaimed "Bud Select - The world's lightest beer." That really sounds . . . tastey . . .

Just like a little kid that's told not to touch something that's hot (yet he does), there's some twisted attraction drawing me in and making me want to try this beer. I can't imagine it even tasting remotely beer-like.

Of course it tastes beer like, in a very watered down light beer kind of way

Jim- I really have trouble thinking there would be beer flavor. I tried a Michelob Ultra which comparatively is a "big" beer and that to me was virtually flavorless.
