Does anyone know what values I should enter for Molasses? I am ball-parking it at 1.047 SG pppg and 300 SRM. 10% moisture content anyone know for sure? Also, do you have the values for Honey? Thanks! |

The reference value for the extract potential of sucrose is 1.04621. If molasses is 10 percent water it couldn't be any higher than 1.0416. Myself I would probably use 1.040; molasses includes a number of unfermentable compounds. I don't know about color, but 300 SRM seems high to me. As for clover honey, I use 1.038 for the extract potential (some people use 1.037) and 1 as the SRM value. My numbers are based on my experience from meadmaking. |
