I just wanted to let you all know we're going to Oregon for vacation next week (about 40 miles South of Portland). Anyone ever been there? I'd like to check out some hop stuff or brewing or something. I'm told it's all MicroBreweries out there. |

Hey Brewzz, Don't forget about the Belmont Station next door (thanks for reminding me!). Great selection of single bottled beers, both domestic and imported. We were there buying some local beer to take home, and got invited to a vertical tasting of Lagunitas Gnarley wine, and went to the Horse Brass to help tap a new batch of Lagunitas Maximus IPA. Good times...Good times... Dave |

In addition to the great suggestions already, the pelican pub in Pacific City on the beach http://www.pelicanbrewery.com/ and Laurelwood http://www.laurelwoodbrewpub.com/ have nice pub brews. The Rose and Raindrop http://www.roseandraindrop.com/ is owned by horsebrass and is an awesome tap bar (try oyster shooters w/ speedway RIS on tap) John's Marketplace in Beaverton (take the Allen exit off 217 and follow the center line ) has one of the most amazing bottle selections ever & if you ask, they will give you nice wine shipping boxes with Styrofoam inserts that hold 12 750s and check in on flights perfectly. |

Wow Denny, I forgot about Rogue! For some reason, I always think they are in Washington. We stayed at the Rogue "House of Bed & Beer" in Newport one time. It's kinda funky, but fun and included a 6 pack of Dead Guy & 2 pint glasses! It was really neat to be able to take a pint of Imperial stout up to your room... Dave |
