Alright... Actually, will have a bit of downtime while in Manhattan next week. Suggestions? I know Brooklyn Brewery is out there...any favorite watering holes? Staying near the UN. TIA. Michael |

The West End. It's a block away from the diner they used in Seinfeld. Brooklyn Brewery's nice too. They didn't have all their beers on tap when I was there though. If ya go, say "HI" to monster, the attack cat for me. There are several brewerys and other great places to drink "in the city", those are just the 2 that I have been to recently. David |

Try Gingerman's in midtown Manhattan. Great selection of imported bottles and local microbrews. Also try dba and the Blind Tiger. Check Pubcrawler.com for addresses and other info. None of us knows more than all of us. - Bill Herzog

I thought the Heartland brewery off Times Square was pretty good, though the above-listed options may be better. That was all I had time for and I wasn't disappointed. |

There was a Belgian bar down the street from the Heartland brewbup on 43rd (I think), not too far from Times Square. We didn't actually make it in there; I put it off too long and they were closed when I tried to go. The beer at the Heartland was decent, although I'm spoiled by the Great Dane. |

Damn... You got me thinking about their beer! Heartland's stout is incredible, and if you're lucky, they'll still have some Black Lager on tap. Usually only available during the wintertime though. Brooklyn Brewery has happy hours on Fridays and they throw a good brewfest. Black Chocolate Stout is excellent, the Monster BW is worth a taste, and their pils and lager are good, but fairly inconsistent w/re: hopping. |
