buy a cheap corona type of a mill? It wouldn't have to be new, but in good shape. |

I did a search on http://www.ebay.ca, and the only three listed were in the US. If you wanted to have one shipped to the US, I will be there in a couple of weeks for the American Thanksgiving and could arrange to bring it back and then send it to you. By the time you paid for shipping twice, it might not be such a good deal, though. If you want to do it that way, send me a private e-mail (address in my profile). Another option would be to check at a natural foods grocery if there is one in your area. Corona mills also are used by people who are into the "whole foods" ethos. By the way, the Valley Mill is made in Canada. (Message edited by BillPierce on November 08, 2005) |

Tony, Our LHBS sells Porkert grain mills that are plate "corona" mills. I saw one on the shelf the other day. Call Southside Brew Crew in Edmonton and ask if they will ship one to you. Personally, I gave mine away last summer. Used it a few times, gave up on using it and bought a Valley Mill. Best investment ever. Bob |

Bob, I phoned them and they have one in stock for $70.oo plus the cost of shipping to NFLD another $30.oo. Not cheap, but then again who said this obsession is cheap? Anyone else come up with a cheaper one, there must be one cheaper than that sitting somewhere waiting for a nice home. Thanks. |

Tony, how about the # 604-251-3411. I believe it's a Porkert too though. Shipping will cost more than from Edmonton though. Have you tried paddock wood? |

NFLD, huh? Well, my LHBS has one (I don't believe he's asking anything near $100, although they're heavy so with shipping you never know), as does the odd deli here and there in Winnipeg. But I don't know where in Nfld. you're going to find one. There are other brands than "Corona", so try searching the web for "corn mill". They're easily shimmed out to increase the gap for crushing. Mega-maltster 2-row malts crush as easily and evenly as on a roller mill. But difficult and boutique malts are difficult to crush consistently. |

I have tried that Sean, but not for corn mill. I have tried for grain mills. I am not in a hurry to find one as my LHBS does mill my grain free, but i would the option of buying my grain in bulk and milling it as I need it. Thanks for taking the time to post a reply anyway, and I'll check your sugession out. |

$100? No wonder it's been on the shelf so long. Sorry about that! |

Man, if you would have posted this a few weeks ago, I could have sent you one for the shipping costs... just gave a corona to a brewing buddy as it had been gathering dust in the garage for 5 years. I just read this and called him, asked him if he was going to use it, he did and is very happy with it - Sorry. It would have been easy for me to get it to you also, I am located in London, Ontario. A place in town sells them - Danny's (519)432-5855 That's where I purchased mine (not affiliated) Give them a try... I think Danny even has one mororized already that he uses for the store and mentioned wants rid of... not for free though... |
