Supplies are getting low...about 2.5 kegs full. New Years day crowd will get some.

Pale ale for Saturday. Yeast from slant Monday into a splash of wort. Tuesday, added about 3 ounces wort. Wednesday, added about 20 ounces of wort. This morning, I mashed 1# pale malt, got a bit more than 1/2 gallon wort ( 1.040 ) for a good sized starter ( 10 gallon batch ).

I am thinking about brewing a pale ale this weekend as well, using US56 and Vanguard hops. I am also considering another stab at a Fuller's ESB clone on Monday, as I will have a fine yeast cake of WLP002 ready by then. This time I think I will try adding a pound of caramelized honey following Randy Mosher's trick.

I am brewing Sunday. I have not decided on what to brew yet. I would like to brew a Saison, but since I did not get the brewing gadget I wanted for X-Mass (a heat blanket) my house is a little cold for that. Maybe 10 gallons of Steam beer, or Alt.

I have spousal clearance to brew Monday, so I'll be whipping up 5 gals of an IPA to try out the Glacier hops I bought. Supplies of "session beer" are out, so I'm desparate to get something new going.

12 gallons of Bo Pils; time to get out of the pale ale/winter brew rut.

Cheers

Richard . .

You think it's painful not to brew this weekend??

No Sir . . Pain is staring at a new BM for two months and watching it collect dust!

Ahhh yes, the Brew Magic. You know, somebody should start a thread to debate buying one of those vs building your own.

Brewed two today.

Had the day off, spousal unit didn't. Still, she tried to snooker me by pulling the time-honored... "keep the 4-yr old home with you today."

BTW, Chumley... "I am also considering another stab at a Fuller's ESB clone on Monday...

What is the recipe?

1.) feeling too lazy to google
2.) keeping the thread alive

Brewed a barleywine today. My first attempt. Had to add two pounds of DME to get it near my target gravity. We'll see how it turns out.

Brew on,
Jeff

PS Wishing all on the board a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Say Tim, I just sent Chumley a pic out of Wheeler and Protz. It's their Fuller's ESB recipe. You have no email address in your profile?

TL - you brew it because your husband's thirsty and he told you to brew it!

Hah! I just told SWMBO that I would be brewing Monday instead of putting up the new curtain rods...

SWMBO: "Oh really"
ME: "I think so..."
SWMBO: "I see..."

2 minutes later...

SWMBO: "What exactly do you thnik you're brewing?"
ME: "SSOS, Amarillo instead of Centennial"

~pause~
"Well... I suppose you could do the curtain rods on Wednesday."

If I had said Hefeweizen this would been a much longer post... :-)
