I caught the episode on Basic Brewing Radio about Lacto-fermentation and the ginger beer plant. It appears you need the "plant" to get started. Has any one ever done this? How about from scratch instead of buying the plant? (Seems like a fun science project you can do with the kids with out producing a high-alcohol brew) |

I attended Raj's talk at the NHC in Orlando. I picked up some Ginger Beer plant shortly thereafter, but have yet to use it. The link Nate references is the talk he gave. Very informative. You can purchase the ginger beer plant here: http://www.fermentedtreasures.com/gingerbp.html |
