Just had a few sneak sips of this year's Utopias. WOW! Ethanol and malt! Hot! Maple?

Yes, they told me they use maple syrup in it. I saw the Utopia(s) in the wooden barrels at the brewery a few weeks back.

Graham, do you know if they also used maple syrup in the Sam Adams Triple Bock? It certainly tastes like it.

No, Bill, they didn't say anything about that. I didn't think to ask since I haven't had or even seen one in many years.

Due to legal restrictions, Samuel Adams Utopias™ can not be sold in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Washington, and West Virginia.

Of course there's no law against selling fortified wines in inner city liquor stores in any of those states. Go figure!
