Here it is in its mostly completed form . . three coats of poly. I somehow ended up one brass backing plate short for one of the tap handles, but that is easily rectified. Speaking of the tap handles, I must fess up. I planned on turning some dowels on a lathe, but decided I didn't want to go through that much labor and repeatability. In a moment that felt like I might have been Connie while yard saleing, I noticed right next to the wooden dowels a display of replacement furniture legs. Closeouts at 2$ a piece!. Add some closeout egg knob brass cabinet hardware for 77¢ plus the inserts from AHB for $1.29. I made these handles for about $5 a piece! You'll notice the black flex hose housing the beer lines. That will eventually hook into the small squirrel cage cooling blower inside an ice chest to keep the lines chilled. I've really enjoyed this project and got NOT ONE iota of grief from SWMBO!

Thanks for the kind words . . . Now, to answer the questions: Kevin, how could I possibly put a price on something destined to become a family HAIRloom? Anil, here's what will be on tap at the Jan. 4th kickoff party: > Donovan's Company #1 Red > Bob G's German Chocolate cake porter > Sweet GA Honey Brown > Cream ale > 50/50 ale (50% MO & 50% Munich) > Bales Goof Proof Cider I added a seventh, a Crisp Rye ale that will find its way onto the draft tower and Bales' Goof Proof Cider will be relegated to the venerable picnic faucet. (sorry Andrew) Oh, and Connie . . how dare you desecrate my Ventmatics by referring to them as Perlicks! |

The beer line-up sounds almost as impressive as the towers look. A little envious I can't be at the party, it would be a tough call for the first round between the 50/50 and the Crisp Rye. Good luck with the party, and again the towers look great. |
