The LP regulator on my 2 barrel system finally gave up the ghost and caused me to do something that should have been done a long time ago - switch over to natural gas. I dreaded boring the orifices fearing going too big. The LP orifice was .059". In five steps I worked it up to .089, which seems to be about where the LP was flame wise. This is about 2.25 times the LP's area or 1.5 times the diameter. Initially the mixer supplied too much air and blew the flame out, but as the orifice got larger, I could burn them without covering the vents. Next step, pilot burners so they only have to be lit once! |
