Just as a bit of reminiscing, I decided to drop by and say How Do! to all the brewers here. And also to scare Pat half to death as he probably thinks I've vanished from the world. Well, I haven't. No, I'm no longer brewing, but I still answer questions here and there (I prefer wines these days. Winemaking: Maybe!) I also just want to say stay tuned as there will be a 20th anniversary version of The Cat's Meow 2 in a new format to meet with today's technology. Stay tuned! Karl Lutzen |

I may have faded away, but I still think about the old days. Especially when my back hurts and know I'll never ever be able to lift a keg of beer again. And then I realize: "Hey! I'll never have to lift another keg of beer again!" and smile. K. |

As long as you can lift a pint you don't have a problem! |

A friend turned me on to Cat's Meow when I told him how bad my Mr. Beer kit beer turned out. From there I found Brews and Views, which has been my most reliable and valuable resource for homebrewing information over the past 15 years. I have pulled a lot of good recipes out of Cats Meow, and have used it to see what ingredients other people used to brew whatever style I was thinking of brewing next. Thanks, Karl, for all of your work. |

I should mention that the second batch I brewed back in 1994 was Karl's extract Pleasing Porter recipe from The Cat's Meow, which I found using the primitive search engines of that time. That got me totally hooked on homebrewing. |

And Karl . . ya don't have to feel bad about the wine . . several folks here enjoy the fruit of the vine. Right now I have a Selection Estate Napa Valley Stag's Leap District Merlot and a Selection Chianti in the frementors, an Australian Chardonnay on deck and Chilean Malbec Shiraz to be ordered next week. Ah . . the spice of life! |

Missouri has over 100 wineries now. My goal is to visit them all. Taste each offering....and write about them. Pretty much the same hobby. Different fermentables
