Last I heard, Sid was a recluse in a small apartment in London and very seldom ventured outside.
Sid actually showed up at Abbey Road just as the band was putting the finishing touches on Shine On You Crazy Diamond and was barely recognized by band members.

If you get a chance to look through 'Inside Out' by Nick Mason which was release a few weeks ago there is a picture of that day when Sid showed up at Abbey Road. It was *not* a pretty site, for sure! Bald and fat are the best descriptors.

I always liked the Sid stuff best, for some reason.

I've got a bike. You can ride it if you like.
It's got a basket, a bell that rings and
Things to make it look good.
I'd give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it.

Does anyone have thoughts on the social agenda of the concert itself? Isn't it a little ironic that people choose to increase awareness of world hunger and poverty by having a big drunken orgy of pop music, cheap beer, and fast food? I've heard they are not even raising relief money . . . just "raising awareness." Even here, people are more excited about Pink Floyd than world hunger (not blaming you, I'm in the same boat).

It's just that the self-righteous hypocricy of these mega-millionare pop stars--who try to preach to us and our leaders about how we should act and feel about poverty--that kind of rubs me the wrong way. Their cause is just and their message may be admirable, but how does this justify having a big party? I wonder how many people will be fasting at the concert to show support for world hunger, rather than gorge themselves on fatty food and mega swill?
