National Homebrewers Conference 2000
Throughout the conference, a hospitality suite was staffed in two-hour shifts by volunteer homebrew clubs, each of them putting on a selection of beer and snacks for their peers' enjoyment. The North State Brewers Cooperative staffed the last shift Saturday night following the awards banquet; the diehard beer geeks hung around until 5am, selflessly making sure no one would be troubled with carrying all that heavy beer home. This impressive public service was not without risk, however, as at least one documented case of "human dominoes" points out.
