Hello all, my wife bought me a mini fridge for the beer keg last week. Although a little small it has no freezer so the keg and CO2 just make it inside. Except that the door will not close due to those pesky can/bottle holders on the inside. I decided rather than returning a wonderful gift to modify the door. So I cut all the molded Styrofoam pieces off and made it as flat as possible. Now for a little plexi sheet to seal things up. Anyone ever try this before? I'd love some tips tricks or pics?

Thanks G-

To bad you already cut the plastic. I would have removed the gasket that holds the plastic molded shelves in place. From there, you can measure the dimensions of the rectangle and cut out a sheet of plywood or plastic shower panel. You can still do this, but you won't ever be able to return the door to its original condition.

Gregory,
What make/model is the refer?

Are you going to mount taps on top or through the door?

It is the GE model with energy star 2.9cf.
I did remove the rubber gasket from the molding.
I considered using a router in wood or plastic
to create a groove for the gasket to fit in.
But then what would you use to seal the wood?

And the tap will go through the door. A tower
would just cost too much right now.

I would think for height reasons a top mounted tap would be better. Once you drill through the door your sort of committed (unless you figure out a nice way to cover the hole). If your at all handy, you could make a nice tower out of wood (ie painted or stained oak). Or even a kinda ghetto one out of (painted) pvc for now?
