Well not really, the article says that while the silica "armor" made the yeast "stronger and more capable of surviving thirty days in the cold with no nutrients", they were unable to reproduce. (I guess you could over-pitch so they wouldn't need to reproduce in your beer  ) |

That much time in the cold is bound to affect anyone's ability to reproduce.
