What is the difference between batch sparging and fly sparging, or if I can find the definitions in a book, what book?

Batch is where you mash with maybe 1.3qts/lb for the scedule and then drain and add more water, stir and let sit for say 15 more minutes and reset the bed and drain again. This means the laminar flow of your tun is not really important like it is in fly sparging where you continually add water above the grain as you drain off liquid.
