Going to Dallas this fall for a weekend trip. (Have to go see Parcells resurrect the Cowboys!) Anything beer related worth going to? I've had St. Arnolds and Celis before Miller @#$%ed it up, but they aren't/weren't in Dallas anyway. Anything decent in the Metroplex? My wife and I are going, and she's never been to Dallas, so I'll probably take her to the tourist areas while we are there, West End, maybe Uptown, etc. We are staying in Las Colinas. Anything in those areas? |

If like Belgian brews, the Old Monk is a MUST - located just north of downtown Dallas (probably 15 min. from the Stadium/Las Colinas). Enjoy, -Vince |

That's two votes for The Old Monk, we'll have to check it out. Beertracker, thanks for the awesome detail! Cruising through the websites though, it looks like The Tipperary is closed? Looks like the Greenville Ave area is pretty popular, eh? Thanks guys, I appreciate it.... |

No problem! I already had the list compiled for my brother & his wife who are going to Big D this weekend. Yea...Last time I stopped in @ The Tippinn, the owner/bartender told me that they were going to be doing some remodeling to the stage area. Maybe you can catch it another time? The Old Monk is a great European-style pub that prides itself on maintaining a great selection of bottled Belgian beers. Their food is top-notch as well, but definitely get there early on a Friday or Saturday. I usually order a glass of Maredsous 8° to have with the Belgian Witbier Steamed Mussels or the Ploughmans Lunch. CHEERS! Beertracker |

"...great selection of bottled Belgian beers." "...Belgian Witbier Steamed Mussels..." OMG, I truly DO live in a beer wasteland! This destination is first on my list next time I drive south from OKC! |
