BYO has kindly allowed me to post a version of the batch sparge article that will be in the Jan. issue. Check out www.hbd.org/cascade/dennybrew for methods and equipment. Comments encouraged! |

Denny, Are the bung and valve you use on your mashtun something that should be available at my lhbs, or somewhere on the web? Also, are you using a .5" supply line braid or .75"? I have an old 48qt cooler just screaming for a purpose. Thanks, Ken |

Yeah, I got both the bung and valve at the LHBS. I don't recall the braid diameter...I'm not sure I even ever checked! I just grabbed one that looked good! |

I found all the parts, and have converted my obsolete ice chest into my new mash tun, for only 12 bucks! Now, can you point me to a good and relatively simple, 5 gallon ale recipe that has a pre-boil volume of no more than 6 or 7 gallons? I am anxious to try out my new rig. Thanks Again, Ken |
