Do the unwired single-stage Ranco and Johnson controllers from ControlsDepot, Grainger, etc. come with straightforward instructions on how to wire them for use with your fridge?

I checked out Zymie's site as previously recommended, but not all too sure I understand it (I suffer from a "Handiness Handicap"). He instructs you to knock out the hole to the controller and install the Romex connector, but where do you install it and what is a "connector"? To me the diagrams seem a bit confusing, maybe less so however if I had a look inside one of these controllers. Not sure if I really grasp the wiring diagrams he offers either.

I'd love to save the $$$ and wire it myself, but a bit hesitant at this point. Are the instructions with the controller a bit more straightforward?

Mike, the instructions, both with the controller and online, are sufficiently clear that you shouldn't have a lot of problems. If you are a total klutz invite a handy friend over and pay in homebrew (after the wiring job is done).

Take the instructions and the controller to HD and get them to help you. They love helping out DIY'ers.
I bought one and wired it myself, but then, I've rewired my whole house.

How much ARE you willing to pay for one?
I can wire one up and ship it to ya, no problem!
Talk to me!
