I just got my keg system! Pretty excited. Now what do I do. I have read so much on force carbonating kegs that now I am really confused.

If you guys could give a step by step on the best methods it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Here's a link to a pretty good explanation.

I use a very simple method for force carbing...

put the keg in the fridge,
set the PSI to 30
leave the gas on for a 24-48 hours
checK it for desired carb level

done

Doesn't the headspace contain oxygen? Do I need to do anything to get that o2 out before I shake the keg?

Thanks again.

before you fill, when you clean and san. the keg you push the the product out with CO2, this purges the keg of oxygen

when you pump it up, the volume of oxygen to compared to CO2 isn't worth worring about unless your storing your beer for a year or something

This is the best info on everything to do with kegging that I've run across...
