Recently brewed a 5-gallon batch of IPA , one of b3's kits. On a whim - and without okaying the idea either here or in one of the many books within arm's reach at the time - I decided to use a pair of my wife's (clean) stockings to boil my hops. I now have five gallons of absolutely flavor-free beer. No hop taste, aroma or bitterness whatsoever. Can this be fixed? And - and this almost seems too stupid to ask, at this point - are panty hose a bad substitute for nylon mesh bags? Why? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

My suggestion would be to try finding some hop alpha acid oil for bittering and some serious dry hopping for flavor/aroma. I have no idea why this would happen as a result of panty hoes, used to use these when i first started brewing and got alot of hop bitterness/flavor/aroma |

> No hop taste, aroma or bitterness whatsoever. Not that this helps, but when I tried the same thing those were the exact results I got as well. |
