Wow, OK gas prices are low indeed. Here in Canuckistan unleaded is currently $1.05 Canuckian loonies per liter. It's easy enough to convert the measure at 3.78 liters per US gallon, but the currency exchange has been on a roller coaster the last few weeks. Anyway, I suppose it works out to $3.60 USD per gallon right now. Who knows what that will be tomorrow?

Over here it's slightly more than 2 USD per liter

Bill, keep in mind that is the price at Cushing, OK. Cushing is traiding point for the US, where most major pipelines meet. The price today for a gallon at your local gas station was $2.94 this morning. Here in Bartlesville, OK that is.

The daughter said that she paid $3.11 today. She got a nickel off for paying cash, but they pumped it!

How long did it take for Roosevelt to clean up Hoover's mess?

Dan, are you suggesting that the political, economic, and social conditions of the world today are the same as they were 70 years ago?

No, I am suggesting that things take time and cheap shots are, well, cheap.

Also note that there was a chance for a real screw up that may have caused a revisit of those conditions. We did not pursue Hoover's balanced budget instincts this time, but in not doing that, there is a great opportunity for cheap shots at Obama and so we see them here.

I suspect the year it took to regain the lost ground (and it still has a long way to go) is not one most of us would care to repeat.
