How is it cheaper than beer? Unless you are counting the water that Bud and Miller sell, It isn't even close. $3.60 a gallon. If I go buy two growlers of quality brew at my local brewpub, it is about $18.00. So that sign isn't funny. |

I can buy RO-filtered water at Costco at $4.00 for a 5 gallon plastic jug. Gas here right now is $1.22 per liter. Converted to US gallons and factoring in the exchange rate, that's $4.52 in US greenbacks. As for beer, the cheapest domestic swill is $28 Canadian looneys for a case of 24 350 ml bottles. Again doing the math, that's $12.37 a gallon south of the border.
Now the real question here is whether someone is thirsty enough to drive to the Beer Store for a two-four.
I confess I don't buy bottled water. I live less than a mile from the world's largest source of fresh water, and it's tapped right into my kitchen. As for the other liquids, I mostly brew my own beer and my bicycle seems more appealing by the day. |
