Hello and welcome! Are you thinking about joining?
So, you want to try making a batch of homebrew but you're not sure what to do. Well let me give you a few good reasons for joining our brewclub.
We hold monthly meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. Here the members gather to discuss the various aspects of brewing and to sample homebrews brought in by the club members. We usually hold a raffle drawing at each of these meetings. At some meetings we have commercial tastings. These are great for learning about the different styles of beer you may be interested in brewing. Whatever we do it's always a good time had by all.
We are involved in several competitions and club brew-ins throughout the year. These are varied and includes the biggest homebrew competition in the country.
- We are one of four Dallas/Ft Worth area brewclubs to host the Bluebonnet Brew-off, which is held each year in March. This is billed as the largest single site homebrew competition in the world.
- We host the Celtic Brew-Off, an annual event which coincides with the Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games held in June. This competion is specific to brews from the Celtic region and is open to all homebrewers.
- We participate in the "Iron Brew" competition which is held in August and sponsered by the Cap and Hare homebrew club. Here you divide up into teams and are given a package of ingredients. It's up to each team to state a beer style and brew it on site. 8 - 10 weeks after that your beer is judged and the winners announced.
- We have the Pumpkin Brew-in & Oktoberfest Celebration held in October. Here the club members gather 'round to brew beer, eat good food, and drink some of the finest homebrews around.
- And finally there's the Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day held the first Saturday in November. Here you can observe and participate in the brewing process with experienced homebrewers. You'll learn about various brewing techniques, view various brew systems, and have fun while doing it.
So, if you're interested in homebrewing and looking for a great group of people with a wealth of knowledge on homebrewing then join our club today, you won't regret it.
