Brewing Ingredients
According to the Reinheitsgebot, Germany's Purity Law, which was adopted in 1516 and is the oldest provision still enforced to protect the consumer, there are three ingredients for making beer which are barley, hops and water. In later years the German beer tax law, which regulates beer production, it states: "For the preparation of beer, only malt, hops, yeast and water can be used." The links below will take you to sites with more information on each ingredient used in the production of beer.
