Slainte,
On behalf of the Knights of the Brown Bottle Homebrew Club, I would like to invite you to participate in the 8th Annual Celtic Brew-Off. This is one of the largest homebrew contests in the nation devoted solely to beer, mead and cider of Celtic origin. Have you brewed an English bitter, Scottish ale, Irish Stout, or, perhaps, a mead? Categories have been expanded for 2004. Now, you have even greater opportunity to see how your homebrewing efforts compare with those of your fellow brewers in an open contest using American Homebrewer’s Association (AHA) and the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) guidelines. Please join with us in an atmosphere of Celtic traditions, Scottish games, and good times at the 2004 Celtic Brew-Off.
Cheers,
Richard Graham
Director, 2004 Celtic Brew-Off
The Celtic Brew-Off is a homebrew competition organized and sponsored by the Knights of the Brown Bottle Homebrew Club of Arlington, Texas. This grand competition is held each May to coincide with the Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games which draws thousands of people from throughout the state and region to enjoy the finest in Celtic traditions, spirits, food and games. For seven years, the Knights have hosted a “Brewing Demonstration Booth” at this fun-filled, three-day event. At our booth we present homebrewing demonstrations to promote interest in homebrewing as a hobby. A highlight of the weekend is always the presentation of awards for the Celtic Brew-Off Homebrewing Competition. This year's awards will be announced Saturday, June 5th at 1:00 PM. Entry forms, deadlines, style guides, and a schedule of events can be found in this brochure or at our website: http://www.hbd.org/kobb/. So, put on your kilts, inflate those bagpipes, heat up the brew kettle and join us for the fun at the Scottish Festival and the 8th Annual Celtic Brew-Off.
