Credits
- The Homebrew Digest. While most RIMS credits start out by mentioning Rodney Morris, I want to start out with the HBD. I gained every last bit of knowledge about RIMS from people on the HBD, and I want to thank them accordingly. I have been reading the HBD for almost two years now and it has advanced my knowledge of homebrewing more than any book, club, or individual ever could.
- Dion Hollenbeck (hollen@woodsprite.com). Next to Rodney Morris, Dion is probably the most knowledgeable RIMS expert out there (maybe more so). He is also a very friendly guy who likes to discuss RIMS, so don't hesitate to email him with your specific questions. To see some nice pictures of his RIMS system, visit http://hbd.org/hollen/.
- Kerry Hauptli: Kerry has also written an article about RIMS in the 1995 Special issue of Zymurgy. This is another excellent article that helped me get a better grasp of the pros and cons of a RIMS.
- Kirk Flemming (flemingk@usa.net). Kirk is also a very nice guy who likes to discuss his propane fired RIMS. I "met" both Dion and Kirk through the HBD and have gained a lot of knowledge from them.
- Rodney Morris. OK, I know it may be sacrilegious to mention Rodney Morris, father of the RIMS, last in my credits. But the truth is that I had my system totally designed and built before I ever even saw his article. However, this is most definitely a credit to the HBD and in now way reflects on Rodney's article. In fact, I found his article to be very helpful and enlightening. If you have access to the 1992 Special issue of Zymurgy then I highly recommend you read Rodney's article about RIMS.
