Someone asked about the follower and I seem to have deleted the msg.
Keep in mind we make these by the thousands so I have to drop back and
think in terms of needing ONE and not having access to a lathe.

The most convenient source of 1/2" pvc sheets is a cutting board at any
kitchenware department. You can cut followers out of this and they also
make a very nice base for the press.

Draw a circle the size you want and cut it out with your favorite saw
and clean it up with a sander.

You could also get a 4" hole saw and cut a nice round hole which becomes
the follower. You can get them in 1/8" increments and so find one that
will fit you mold.

Filling the mold with wax was also a pretty simple idea. You would have
to spread the force of the screw somehow to keep from punching through.
You might try plaster of Pairs and coat this with wax or some sort of
varnish. Fiberglass resin from an auto parts store would work also.

There are lost of ways of skinning the cat.
